We “believe” we are educated, liberated and informed, but can we match the power of a single rose? This is an acrylic on board work I made in 1997; it made me think of the power of a flower. Why do we send people flowers? What do they do for us? How do they always manage to draw our attention?
Matshona Dhliwayo says, “A rose does not answer its enemies with words, but with beauty.” In today’s world where arguments are flying and governments and individuals feel the need to defend themselves with intimidating ploys, let us not forget that a mere rose can achieve more than our wisest words ever will. Do not forget to take time today to smell the roses.
I am glad you like them. Be blessed.
I love this work of art. The roses.... so lovely.
