"The colours of a Chinese spring" (Post 6)

Two years ago, as I was coming to the end of my teaching contract in Wuhan, China, spring time surprised me. I had to take my camera; I walked all around my neighbourhood on a sunny Saturday morning to photograph the promise of new life that was budding all around me. The Bible says that not even Solomon in all his splendid attires could compare with the beauty of a single flower.

I used these photographs as visual references or inspiration for 10 linear abstract pieces I completed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. These works were exhibited in April 2019 at a group exhibition. On a cheery note: If you want to decide what to wear and what your new outfit should look like, go look at the finery of the flowers. Let there be a "spring" in your step.
