“We may meet in Africa” (Post 68)

How can I forget you now?

The happy hills of my recollection

Are named after you and you and you…

You are a treasure that should last forever.

I enjoyed trading time with you;

You invested in my heart.

We may meet in Africa.

You will taste

our roasted

Arabica.

I am busy with a little project at the moment and it involves a trip down memory lane; I have to look at significant people I met and their contribution to my personal development. It is so easy to forget friends and colleagues who made our lives richer; hopefully they will raise the same flag of appreciation when we appear in their dreams. The “poem” above is part of the project I am working on.

I decided to create a composition for this post by using the portraits I made of people that I know. These are acrylic and oil on board spout drawings I made in 2010.

I think Arabia and Africa share a few core elements: heat and hospitality?
